Our labels are translucent vellum premium cardstock- This paper is acid-free and lignin-free, recyclable, biodegradable and vegan.
About our ingredients:
Tussah Silk Fibers: We use this silk from Bramble Berry because it is cruelty free– the fibers are collected from the cocoons after the silk worms have emerged. Silk helps with more lather, and a nice “silky” feel.
Certified Sustainable Palm Oil: RSPO – SUSTAINABLE – Food Grade – Kosher – We use a premium Palm Oil from Essential Depot that is RSPO Mass Balance because of the commitment to the preservation of the orangutan habitat impacted by conventional palm production. The Purchase of RSPO Mass Balance palm oil contributes to the production of certified sustainable palm oil. Certified Sustainable Palm Oil is palm oil that was certified by the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) according to specific criteria to help reduce the negative impacts of palm oil cultivation on the environment and communities.
Food Grade Sodium Hydroxide (Lye): Manufactured in the U.S.A. Food Codex, FCC, and Kosher. Our Sodium Hydroxide comes from Essential Depot. It is vitally important to use only quality Sodium Hydroxide (Lye) when making soap. Use caution when purchasing soaps that contain lye from drain openers as a source of lye because most drain openers contain other chemicals in addition to the lye. These other chemicals are very undesirable and potentially harmful when used in making soap.
There is no such thing as soap made without Lye. Some people purchase a melt and pour base that a company has already turned into soap by using lye. They make their soap with this melt and pour base so they do not have to come in contact with the lye themselves, BUT lye was used to make the soap BEFORE they used the base to make the final product.
